Starting with nothing but a computer connected to the Internet, Yeo Feng (now our Principal Consultant) uploaded a piece of software he had just written for sale on the Internet. Little did he know that a few hours later, orders would be flooding in from the other side of the globe… from places as far off as the United States of America.
For Yeo, this was an epiphany. In his own words: “It opened my eyes up to the possibilities of doing business over the Internet.”
Since he was treading on largely uncharted territory, Yeo spent the next few years tweaking and researching how the Internet worked for large-scale selling.
“There was a lot of trial and error, and months went by with seemingly nothing happening. But you have to understand that I was in largely uncharted territory. I was trying to move from this physical, tangible world of commerce we’re all so familiar with into cyberspace, where nothing is touchable. Everything was done electronically. The medium, message and rules all had to be rewritten.”
And that’s just what he did. Taking up sideline copywriting and marketing consultation jobs for websites and business owners, Yeo experimented with what worked and what didn’t. He also used his knowledge to release more products (apart from his software) such as downloadable e-books and courses.
Today, 8 years later, Bestseller Marketing is formed to help the next generation of business owners increase their sales by bringing together technology and persuasive marketing techniques.
